You and your job

As an AI Strategist in the Strategy vertical within Innovation, you will be instrumental in designing and guiding the department’s AI strategy, focusing on sector-wide innovative and commercial solutions.

Your role will center on translating industry trends and technological advancements into strategic insights for high-level decision-making and fostering collaborative initiatives across various internal teams.

You will oversee AI initiatives to ensure their alignment with the bank’s comprehensive strategy, consistently upholding compliance, legal, and risk standards to promote responsible and ethical AI practices.

Some practical examples:

• Outline strategic steps for leveraging transformational propositions using Large Language Models.
• Define data prerequisites, and strategize data acquisition approaches.
• Stay at the forefront of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning to shape proactive strategies that position the bank ahead in technological and market trends.
• Ensure responsible selection of AI propositions, considering their deep impact on employees, and contribute to shaping strategies that future-proofs our workforce.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Strategic guidance on AI development: Focus on high-level strategies for leveraging AI technologies, including large language models and reinforcement learning. Guide the conceptual approach and oversee the evaluation of these technologies to align with the bank-wide strategic goals.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a strategic liaison between the Strategy and Product Development verticals within the Innovation department. Ensure that AI strategies are harmoniously integrated with the product development considerations, guiding unified AI adoption.
• Strategic communication and insights: Synthesize complex AI trends and developments into strategic insights, and present them in proposals and reports, aiming to inform and guide decision-making among senior stakeholders.
• Ethical and compliance governance: Oversee the ethical considerations and compliance aspects of AI initiatives. Ensure adherence to legal standards and ethical practices throughout AI proposition development.

You and your talent:

• An advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend new domains, concepts, and technological advances.
• Broad understanding of advanced machine learning paradigms.
• Understanding of information theory and reinforcement learning is a plus.
• Computer programming skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Basic Dutch is preferred.
• Excellent ability to break down complex subjects into understandable terms for audiences with varying levels of expertise.

This is what we offer you:

• Salary in scale 9 (up to € 5.655,50 gross per month), plus a 13th month, holiday pay, and a generous pension scheme
• An additional Employee Benefit Budget (11% of your monthly salary). You decide how to spend this budget. This may include purchasing extra leave days, making extra pension contributions or even receiving a monthly cash pay-out
• A 36/40-hour working week with flexible working hours
• Hybrid working: together with your team and/or based on your projects, you decide when you want to work from home or at the Rabobank headquarters (Croeselaan, Utrecht)
