
Group Tax Manager
About the role
As the Group Tax Manager at Accell Group, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organizations from tax risks. You will be the key person responsible for ensuring tax compliance and minimizing risks across the regions. Your role involves collaborating closely with internal Accounting teams and external advisors to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of tax declarations to relevant authorities, with a particular focus on the Dutch fiscal unity (Vpb). Your responsibilities also extend to transfer pricing, a substantial component of this role. The Group Tax Manager owns and leads the Tax function of Accell Group. In this role you report to the Group Finance Director. The Group Finance team also includes an Indirect Tax Manager, Manager Accounting & Reporting-, FP&A-, Data Services- and Treasury teams. In this role your key responsibilities are:
Strategic:
- Tax Risk Management: Take the lead in safeguarding Accell Group's European and Asian organizations from tax risks, including direct and indirect taxes. This role entails assuming full accountability for all tax-related activities.
- Dutch Fiscal Unity (Vpb): Collaborate closely with the Accounting team and external advisors to ensure correct and early tax declaration to the tax authorities within the Dutch fiscal unity, emphasizing accuracy and compliance.
- Transfer Pricing: Manage and oversee the critical area of transfer pricing to ensure adherence to international tax regulations and the organization's best interests.
Operational/Tactical:
- Tax Calculations: Review tax calculations carried out by finance teams and external advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Income Tax Provision: Review current and deferred income tax provisions, ensuring proper accounting and reporting in accordance with relevant standards.
- CbCR Reporting: Manage the preparation and submission of Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) and maintain Master and Local file documentation as required by tax authorities.
- Pillar 2 Implementation: Implement and ensure compliance with the latest regulations related to Pillar 2, staying abreast of changes and their potential impact on the organization.
- Tax Audits: Be responsible for managing interactions with tax authorities, particularly in the Netherlands, and handling tax audits and requests when necessary.
- Tax Research: Conduct thorough tax research, including modeling potential impacts of proposed legislation and other matters that may affect the company's tax position.
- Third-Party Advisors: Manage relationships with third-party tax advisors, ensuring their work aligns with the company's objectives and standards.
- Corporate and Business Restructurings: Provide assistance and advice on corporate and business restructurings as required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, you ensure strong stakeholder management to keep the topics relevant to this role visible, and stakeholders informed of the impact. As an individual, you derive energy from raising awareness about this. Pulling and collecting the relevant information within the current structure is what you do. In this role, you maintain various contacts. For this reason, you are able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, across functions, organizations and with external contacts.
Furthermore, we would like to see the following in your profile:
- A relevant Master degree in fiscal law or fiscal economics (and/or finance/accounting) and a minimum of 8 years international tax / transfer pricing experience obtained within a Big 4 firm or equivalent or in a tax department of a larger multi-national corporation;
- Highest standards of integrity, business controls and business practices;
- Self-starter, proactive and results oriented;
- Detail-oriented, organized thinker, good with numbers and good analytical;
- High degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment;
- We consider it a bonus if you have knowledge of pillar 2 and operational TP experience;
- You are willing to work at our headquarters in heerenveen once a week.
