Our team

You will be part of People & Transformation within our Workforce Advisory team in the People Advisory Services (PAS) department in the Netherlands. A group of experienced and diverse professionals with great passion and innovation that guide clients on complex people experience and organisation transformation projects. The team is driven by working together, in collaboration with our clients and our EY colleagues to build a better working world through people.

You will be both working from the EY Amsterdam office where the team is based and client locations. Though working flexible from your home office or other locations is common practice.

The Opportunity

As (Senior) Manager within People & Transformation, you will have a leading role in both realizing the team strategy and growing our client impact. This will involve leading on client development initiatives, project delivery and drawing on the support of the wider team to put forward and oversee high impact change, people and talent solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Some key capabilities you should be prepared to bring to client facing and teams include:

  • Demonstrate strong understanding and technical skills in HR and/or change management. Approach complex HR and/or change management challenges with a human-centric mindset, offering innovative solutions that align with business objectives
  • Lead project workstreams, from planning through implementation - including managing project resources and budgets effectively, and identify and effectively manage and mitigate any risks and issues
  • Experience with HR functional set up, including compensation, benefits, HR operations and technology, HR strategy, talent and culture, HR functional build-up and supporting the broader enterprise-wide integration efforts, including change management, organization design, and workforce transition
  • Contribute to generate profitable revenue by identifying additional engagement opportunities and building lasting relationships with client
  • Influence and persuade clients and stakeholders to gain support for any major change initiatives and/or decisions
  • Encourage and facilitate collaboration amongst team members, and promote an inclusive working environment
  • Contribute to business development and client pursuit activities by preparing proposals and delivering presentations for potential clients
  • Coach and develop teams and colleagues, and act as a visible role model for our people

Skills and Attributes for success 

As a Manager you will lead and deliver large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement transformations for large companies or can lead small engagements or components of large, complex engagements. This will also include identifying key client business issues, determining client needs by supplementing innovative approaches. You will provide evaluating and validating analysis and develop recommendations for the client. In addition, you have a strong eye for client development and further innovate our service offerings.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Relevant professional experience, including for example previous work with a Big 4, global management consultancy firm, niche consultancy or performed an in-house role in which you gained exposure to a large-scale project(s)
  • Around 6-8 years of prior experience within HR or Change Management for the level of Manager. For Senior Manager we are looking for at least 9 years of experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • Experience and deep-understanding of Change Management methodologies or the HR function
  • Have a relevant master’s degree
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Strong project management skills

Depending on your rank the pre employment screening could contain the following: Certificate of Conduct (in Dutch: VOG) or - if requesting a Dutch VOG is not possible - Criminal Background Check of the country you are currently living or have lived during the last five years, integrity questionnaire, verification of ID, diploma’s and/or work experience and consultation of the Dutch insolvency registry.
