Your job

Your focus will be on the macroeconomic developments in the United States including its monetary and fiscal policy changes. To this end, you will be centrally involved in building macroeconomic and central bank policy scenarios. This will involve working closely together with the economists and strategists within the team.

You will provide analysis, publications and presentations on these themes for external clients, such as companies and investors, and internal clients, such as our risk, finance, corporate banking and private wealth management departments

You will be part of the global business cycle research team that operates from our head office in Amsterdam. You will work closely together with the other teams in the department, which focus on the Dutch economy, financial markets and sustainability.

The global business cycle team is part of Group Economics, which is the core research department within ABN AMRO. Our mission is to provide research and scenarios that define the risks and opportunities for the bank and its clients.

Your profile

You are an experienced economist with a strong drive to deliver quality. You possess excellent analytical and persuasive skills. The role of Senior Macroeconomist is a key role for in our organisation for a professional who is resourceful and possess a creative and entrepreneurial spirit.

Your profile:

• Relevant Masters degree or PhD in economics
• 5+ years in working as a macroeconomist
• Deep knowledge of macroeconomics and financial markets
• Strong track record in providing economic analysis to clients, daring to express a well-founded view on the global economy.
• Experienced in working in multi-specialist teams and in successful co-operation with stakeholders
• Excellent analytical skills (including statistical analysis with large datasets), experience in macroeconomic modelling would be an advantage
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Team player (that adheres to our core values: care, collaboration, courage)

We are offering

• The salary displayed above (6.408 - 9.155 pm) is based on a 36-hour workweek, including vacation pay and a benefit budget. 40 hours per week is also possible.
• A benefit budget that allows you to purchase additional employment benefits. If you choose not to purchase anything, it will be paid out monthly.
• 5 weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
• A Personal Development Budget of 1,000 per year. You can accumulate this amount up to 3,000.
