Senior Manager Decarbonisation

Working closely with experts from PwC’s global network, the decarbonisation professional provide subject matter expertise around financed emissions and decarbonisation levers with a focus on the EMEA region. On an on-going basis, you will also work on consulting engagements and project delivery. The role can be based in one of our offices in EMEA region.

What will you be doing? 

As a decarbonisation expert with solid working knowledge on financed emissions and carbon levers, you will help our clients in the financial services sector as they face challenges brought about by climate change. This an exciting opportunity to work with first class net zero, carbon and climate risk experts around PwC’s global network to make a real impact. You will also:

• Provide technical expert input and advice to network’s largest and most strategic net zero transformation projects.
• Contribute to thought leadership development, positioning PwC at the forefront of the net zero and decarbonisation agenda.
• Contribute to the development of PwC’s global approach to net zero strategy and transformation including proposition methodologies and continued enhancement of suite of tools.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and ownership of proprietary decarbonisation lever database, accelerating user guidance and support for engagement teams.
• Integrate new approaches into existing PwC climate solutions and coordinate with key geographies to promote best practices.
• Work as part of client engagement teams and the delivery of project work.
• Become a coach and role model to junior members of the team.

Does this describe you?

We are looking for a Climate Change professional with strong experience working in decarbonisation in or with financial services entities to join our team.

A subject matter expert in this area, you will also have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Climate science, Environmental Science, Sustainability or other relevant disciplines
• Prior, relevant 10+ years’ experience in the climate risk / decarbonisation field
• Have expert knowledge of decarbonisation levers across scope 1, 2 and 3 relevant to multiple industries / clients;
• Have substantial experience working in/with clients driving net zero strategy and transformation programmes in or with financial services entities;
• Be an innovative thought leader striving for a net zero and carbon neutral future;
• Have a consulting background with the ability to build relationships, originate new business and technically lead and oversee team development and performance; 
• Have strong communications and people skills and an ambitious and positive mindset, enthusiasm and confidence;
• Be collaborative as an individual and excel in leading remote teams and bridging diverse perspectives to reach agreement on technical issues.
